SCHOOLMASTER HONOURED
Mr T. W. C. Tothill Affectionately known as "Old Tommy,” Mr T. W. C. Tothill, whose association with Christ’s College goes back some 36 years, received- many tributes from his associates when he was elected an honorary life-member of the Christ’s College Old Boys’ Association at its annual meeting last evening.
Many members of the association paid tribute to Mr Tothill for his devotion to the school, and for his academic, sporting and various other activities.
In reply, Mr Tothill said that although he had only drifted into teaching by accident, it had been a wonderful life. “I came here at the age of eight and stayed until I was 18; I owe everything I have and gained to the college, and if I have given back a fraction in return, then I am deeply gratified,” he said. He would miss the school after his retirement next year, but he would continue to serve it through the association to the best of his ability, said Mr Tothill.
