FLAW IN HEALTH STAMPS
One Sheet Printed In Only Two Colours (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 4. One hundred and fourteen of this year’s 3d blue poaka health stamps contain a flaw and may be worth as much as £5O each. Instead of being in three colour—black, blue and red —these stamps have been processed in black and blue only. So the poaka has white legs instead of red and red tinge in the eyes has been omitted. Six of the wrongly printed stamps have so far been found. They have been acquired by Mr Campbell Paterson. a stamp dealer, of Orakei road. Remuera — a leading Auckland philatelist. Mr Paterson believes that the other stamps on the error sheet may have already found their way overseas in Christmas mail. “Compared with the earlier variety of misplaced four red legs reported from Ashburton last week, this latest find is philatelically vastly more important “This is not a freak, and it is obvious that one process has been completely omitted,” says Mr Paterson.
