HEALTH STAMP SALES
Scouts’ Drive In City Today The health stamp sales in the Christchurch and New Brighton districts will be given a boost today when boy scouts make a house-to-house drive. About 1000 boys in uniform will be engaged on the task which is regarded by the scouts as one of the yearly “good deed days.” Each of the 10 scout districts in the metropolitan and New Brighton areas together with the Governor’s Bay scout group— Kauri, Rata, Raupb, Miro, Manuka, Kawaka, Rimu, Matai, Tawa, and Kowhai (New Brighton)— will be issued with envelopes containing health stamps to the value of 3s 6d. The organisers hope that this community service by the boys will realise about £2OOO. The scout drive at Sumner and the sea scout drive at Lyttelton will be held on October 10. The Sumner scouts will cover the area of Sumner, Redcliffs, Mount Pleasant, and Heathcote. The scouts will be on the road about 9 a.m.
