Darts Team's Success

This year has been one of the most successful for the 150 members of the Canterbury Darts Association. Two representative teams were recently selected to play at Mosgiel, Dunedin, and Timaru, and the A team won all its matches. At Dunedin the A team won the Scott Trophy (the Ranfurly Shield of darts) for the first time. At Mosgiel, the Canterbury A team won 8-6, and at Timaru the unbeaten record was maintained 9-5. The best performance of the tour was by P O’Neil, who finished his singles game of 301 with 9 darts. O’Neil is the holder of a 180 badge and bar. The Canterbury B team was not as fortunate, although the standard of its play was very high. At Mosgiel the team lost. 9- and was narrowly beaten at Dunedin, 8-6.
