AUSTRALIA’S EXPORTS
Plans For Trade With Germany (N.Z Press Association— Copyright) • Rec. 10 p.m.) CANBERRA, September 24 The Minister for Trade (Mr John McEwan) said in the House of Representatives today that he looked forward with “considerable confidence” to coming negotiations with a trade delegation from West Germany. Replying to a question. Mr McEwan said West Germany needed many commodities that Australia could sell, including cereal grains, meat, dairy products and fruit. “Our onportunities for selling to West Germany have been inhibited partly, as in many European countries, by local policies of rather extreme agricultural protectionism,” he said. But he added that he was confident that Australia could expect to sell more grains and oats to Germany and arrange a more predictable market for fruit and meat products.
