VIBRAPAC MASONRY (WELLINGTON)
A £lOO,OOO public company to be known as Vibrapac Masonry (Wgji), Ltd., will shortly commence making concrete masonry in Lower Hutt. River Shingle and Sand (1935), Ltd., suppliers of aggregate in the Wellington and Lower Hutt areas, is associated with the formation of the new company.
A Besser Vibrapac machine has been ordered from the United States for £39.500. Provisional directors are: Mr Richard Martin, formerly general manager of Vacuum Oil (N.Z.); Sir William Sullivan: Mr C. W. Salmon, managing director of Cory-Wright and Salmon, Ltd.; Mr J. E. Gillingham, a director of River Shingle and Sand; and Mr J. D. Broome, at present general manager of Vibrapac Blocks, Ltd., Christchurch. Mr Broome will be managing director of the company, and will be responsible for the design and erection of the plant. The company will be the third in New Zealand incorporating the name “Vibrapac” in its title. “Vibrapac” is a trade name originated by the Besser Corporation of the United States. The new company has no financial link with Vibrapac Blocks, Christchurch, or its associate company, Vibrapac (Otago), Ltd.
