The United States and the Soviet Union are hearing agreement on closer co-opera-tion in the peaceful development of atomic energy, the “New York Times” reported today. A formal agreement to cooperate in peaceful atomie energy was likely to be one of the most significant concrete steps to emerge from the Khrushchev-Eisenhower talks at Camp David, the paper said. In Washington today, the chairman of the United States Atomic Energy Commission. Mr John McCone, and the head of the Soviet Atomic Energy Organisation, Mr V. S. Emelyanov, will resume talks that began last week. Mr McCone and Mr Emelyanov were expected to keep their conversations confined entirely to exploration of such topics as research and power reactors, high energy physics and the development of materials for power reactors, the American Associated Press reported. Any final decisions would be made by President Eisenhower and Mr Khrushchev.
