Extra Permits Allocated
The Greymouth Trotting Club and the Marlborough > Trotting Club have each received an extra permit for the current season, according to advice received by the New Zealand Trotting Conference -from the Minister of Internal Affairs- (Mr Anderton). The Greymouth club has received its permit to enable it to run a special centennial meeting The permit will probably be used at Easter, giving the club a twoday meeting. The Marlborough club will also run a centennial meeting. The club will run its usual summer meeting on February 6 and 8. while it is possible the extra permit will be used in June, about the time of the Nelson Trotting Club’s winter meeting on June 11 and 13. METHVEN TROTTING CLUB WITHDRAWALS for the spring meeting to be held on Saturday. September 26, 1959, close with the Secretary. P.O. Box 157. Ashburton, on Monday. September 21, at 4 p.m. —Advt Fire Charges.—The Halswell County Council has agreed to accept an offer by the Metropolitan Fire Board to attend any [fires in the Tai Tapu district on I the basis of a charge of £l5 for leach fire attended.
