Hastings Golfer’s Round Of 63
(New Zealand Press Association) HASTINGS, September 18. When a Hastings golfer, F. Gordon, returned a card of 63 at the Hawke’s Bay centennial 72-hole stroke championship on the Hastings club’s course at Bridge Pa yesterday, he lowered the course record by three strokes. His round was played under genuine medal conditions in an official championship event. As far as can be ascertained the only other comparable effort was that of the New Zealand amateur representative, R. J. Charles, when he recorded 62 in a foursome at Christchurch. GREENDALE GOLF CLUB. OPEN MIXED DAY. SUNDAY, SEPT. 27, 18 Holes, Best-ball Stableford. Starting 10 a.m. Post entries. Bring Own Lunch. Entry, 10s per pair. —Advt.
