CONTROL OF HYDATIDS
Society To Call Meeting A public meeting on hydatids control will be called by the Royal Society of Health within the next fortnight -or so. Interested persons and representatives of societies will be invited to attend. This will be part of the society’s yearly programme, it was decided at the annual meeting recently. Other topics to be studied and examined by the society include smoking and lung cancer, alcoholism, mental health trends, and town planning and urban spread. It is also hoped to arrange a further public meeting in South Canterbury on hydatids control. Officers elected were:
President, Mr ,E. F. Scott (Christchurch Drainage Board); council, Dr. W. I. Patterson (Department of Health), Mr D. P. McLellan (Waimairi County Council), Mr M. W. Atkinson (Christchurch City Council), and Mr T. G. McPherson (Ashburton Borough Council); secretary, Mr R. W. Connor (Department of Health).
