Lunik
Sir.—“ Three Observers” and “C.H.C.” are evidently not aware that we are in a new- age—the age of science. Lunik is but a beginning of the wonders to be unfolded. In past ages evolution gave us our great mathematicians (among the early Greeks), our great musicians, unexcelled, our poets and later our clever engineers. This present age of science will unfold the mysteries of the universe, life and death. I agree with "C.H.C.” concerning C.0.R.5.0., but I do not think scientific progress should be halted to feed and clothe the poor. Countries could save millions of pounds for the poor by cutting down useless defence expenditure. and could also help by equal distribution of national incomes.—Yours etc. HAIL. SCIENCE. September 16, 1959.
