A remit which came before the Auckland provincial conference of the Fruitgrowers’ Federation suggested that the Apple and Pear Marketing Board investigate the sale of apples by slot machines. Mr M. Sunde, of Gratia, said that in the United States there were machines in which "you deposit a coin and get an apple or two.” The conference voted in favour of the remit, which is to be sent on to the forty-third annual Dominion conference of the federation at Blenheim in November.—(P.A.)
