CHURCH WORKERS FOR JAVA

Two fraternal workers being sent to Java, Mr and Mrs Dudley Mander, will be commissioned by the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) at a service in the Christchurch Cathedral at 10 a.m. on September 4. Mr and Mrs Mander are being sent by the National Council of Churches to the Christian Teachers’ Training College in Salatiga, Java, and w’ill represent not only their own Church but all Churches in the council.
Both are graduates. Mr Mander in philosophy-nsycholoev. and Mrs Mander in English. They have been invited by the Indonesian Council of Churches to the Training College. which prepares teachers for the 350 high schools controlled by the Churches in the Indonesian Republic. The college has about 400 students and its staff is international including Indonesians. Dutch. Indians. Filipinos. Americans, and Mr and Mrs Brewster of New Zealand.
