SALE OF TICKETS
System To Be Investigated
Suggestions that the system of selling tickets for major Rugby matches be investigated were made by Mr R. R. Masters at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union last evening. Mr Masters said that members of the Victory Park Board and the union could discuss the method of distributing tickets as at Twickenham with a view to setting up something similar in 1961. The correct distribution of tickets would completely offset the present trend in black market selling. The president (Mr H. C. Blazey) said that a number of discussions had been held on the matter. The board was concerned and was seeking information so that a decision could be reached The distribution of tickets was the responsibility of the union, but both were working together to learn as much as possible from overseas. “It won’t, be left and forgotten,” Mr Blazey said. “Once the test is over, we will give it our attention —both the union and the board. We have to face the trend that is developing in the re-selling of tickets and we will have to do something for the future.”
