Lyttelton Branch’s Annual Meeting

A successful year of operation was shown in the report presented at the thirty-seventh annual meeting of the Lyttelton branch of the Plunket Society, held in the Lyttelton Borough Council chamber last evening. The Deputy-Mayor (Mr W. Morris) presided. The branch includes the sub-branches of Diamond Harbour, Governor’s Bay, Port Levy, and Heathcote. The report showed that £137 10s had been raised by the street-day appeal Other activities included the annual May Day party for the children.

The Governor's Bay subbranch would soon move into its new rooms in the Community Centre building, the report said. The nurses’ report showed that the number of visits of babies to rooms was 1581, including 1162 at the Lyttelton rooms. Babies visited in their homes numbered 569. Pre-school children, totalling. 530, had received attention from the nurse.
