Cabinet Changes Planned
KUALA LUMPUR, August 22. Tengku Abdul Rahman, the Prime Minister of Malaya, today pledged his Government to seek peace and harmony among the country’s different races. The Tengku was speaking at a press conference. With him was his Cabinet of eight Malays, two Chinese and one Indian. He said there would be some changes in the Cabinet. Mr Tan Siew Sin, Minister of Commerce, would become Finance Minister in place of Sir Henry Lee. Sir Henry Lee did not contest the general elections held on August 19 last. The Tengku’s Alliance Party won 73 of the-103 seats contested He told the conference that one additional Minister would be appointed from the Upper House, when that body was formed.
