Women In Politics
Sir, —Mr Wheeler rather lets down the side. There is no reason, beyond expediency, why the administrative door should be opened wider to women. In fact, immutable biological laws dictate the male as the inceptive principle to life’s progression; the female, the conceptual. In’ political meaning, man is thus to institute social reforms; woman, if she will, to suggest their direction. Mr Wheeler could therefore cry pity upon any grudge our womenfolk may bear towards their creational design, and, with me, love them for it. He may not be allowed uncontested to hand them up to a political summit.—Yours etc. FRANCIS Wm. HEAL. August 20, 1959.
