Mr W J Broughton, of Palmerston North. 11 times leading jockey in New Zealand till his retirement last year, has accepted an invitation from Mr Noel Simpson, of Auckland, to take the four-year-old Up ana Coming to the United States Up and Coming has been invited to start in the Washington International. run at Laurel Park in November. Mr Broughton said this evening that it was not his intention to seek a licence either to ride or to train Up and Coming. He would have charge of the horse on the trip and would act in an advisory capacity to Up and .Coming’s American trainer till Mr Simpson arrived in the United States. Transport is the main difficulty at present. Mr Simpson Is hoping to secure air travel for his horse, but this is not readily available.
