Death Of “Grand Old Lady”
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, August 22. The "grand old lady” of the Australian Labour Party, Mrs Gertrude Melville. M.L.C., died at Sydney late last night in Prince Henry Hospital. Mrs Melville, who was 74. suffered a coronary occlusion at her home early yesterday. • She had been a member of the Labour Party since ahe was 19.
