FOXTON FIRST LEG

Golden Easter Selected

“The Press" Special Sennet WELLINGTON. August 21. Golden Easter, Peter Baffles and Cordage are three well-performed middle-distance horses which are strongly fancied for the M B Bergin Handicap, the first leg of the T.A.B. double, at the Foxton Racing Club's meeting tomorrow Golden Easter and Peter Baffles are near the top of the hand>cap, but Cordage is near the minimum and has yet to gain re-entry to the field. One more scratching will enable him to start. Golden Easter and Peter Baffles both finished fourth at their last starts. Golden Easter at Marton over 10 furlongs, and Peter Baffles over seven furlongs at Tauherenikau. Cordage was unplaced at his last start, his first in open company, but his previous hack form over middle distances was first class, and recently he has worked in improved style at Awapuni. Shirley-Downs, which won the Bergin Handicap last year. Reconvey, Mama Mia. Tyrant. Salt Spray and Foglia d'Oro are other Bergin Handicap acceptors which have been doing well in their recent racing. Second Leg The Ruthless four-year-old. Destroyer, which comes from the same stable as Cordage, probably will be favourite for the second leg, the Robinson Handicap.
