METHVEN CUP LIMIT

The limit for the Methven Cup which will be run at the Methven Trotting Club’s spring meeting on Saturday, September 26. will this vear be 4min 28sec for two miles Tn recent years the club has applied a limit of about 4min 32sec or 4min 33sec for two miles. The stake this year will be £ 1065. including a trophy valued at £65. Last year the stake was £lO6O, Including a trophy valued at £6O. The tightening of the limit will have the full support of owners and trainers, and it will give horses close to New Zealand Cup class an additional opportunity to qualify for the big Addinston race Stakes for the meeting this year amount to £3500, including a trophy valued at £65. Last year the total was £3495. including a trophy valued at £6O The club has also announced that, if necessary, it will run divisions in the Marawhiti Handicap and the Mount Harding Handicap, races for maiden pacers and pacers with one win respectively.
