Bay Of Plenty Beaten By Waikato, 41-8
(New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON, August 2. Waikato retained the firm grip it has had on the Coronation Shield for the last two years by overwhelming Bay ot Plenty by 41 points to 8 on Saturday.
D B. Clarke played another fine game, gaining 14 of his side’s points. E. A. R. Pickering also played an outstanding game. Tries for Waikato were scored b( F. J. Clarke, A. Hayes. R. Fausett (2). M. Raureti. I. Cathro, M. McDonald (21. and Y. McKenzie. D. B. Clarke converted four times and kicked two penalty goals. For Bay of Plenty T. Laurent kicked a penalty goal and converted a try scored by E. Beattie.
