No Settlement Reached (New Zeaiana Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 19. Mr T. E. Skinner, president of the Auckland Trades Council, said today that nothing had been concluded during his discussions at the week-end with the Minister of Labour (Mr Hackett) about the labour dispute at the National Women's Hospital construction job at Epsom. The job was declared “black" by the Auckland General Labourers' Union after 51 carpenters stopped work on the hospital building last Wednesday afternoon. The Auckland Drivers’ Ji!? 10 ?.. also declared the job black in sympathy with the members of the Carpenters’ Union.
Mr Skinner said certain suggestions were made during his talks with Mr Hackett, but none was agreed to.
It looks at this stage that the , could ta ke some time to settle, he said, “although there is nothing really to indicate which way it will go.”
