Horton 481 beat Lancashire 239 and 95, by 234 runs. At Buxton: Somerset 363 for seven declared drew with Derbyshre 165 and 14 tor none. Match abandoned through rain. At Leeds: Gloucestershire 339 and 42 with out Joss drew vAth Yorkshire 223 (J. Wilson 99 not out). At Edgbaston: Scotland 262 and 128 for six declared beat Warwickshire 108 for one declared (F. Gardner 80 not out) and 157 (W. Stewart 52 > by 33 runs. At the Oval: Surrey 316 for eighi declared drew with Leicestershire 118 and 401 for five (W. Watson 155, M. Hallam 71. A. Revill 83 not out; G. Lock five for 89). At Lords’: Gentlemen 194 and 319 for five declared (M. Smith 166. Subba Row 55) drew with Players 365 and 49 without loss. At Westcliffe: Kent 272 and 179 (B Knight five for 63) beat Essex 241 and 193 (B. Baker 105) by 17 runs. „At Trent Bridge: Nottinghamshire "46 and 311 for three declared (H. Winfield 69, J. Springhall 100 not out, R. Simpson 66 not out) drew with Northamptonshire 336 for eight declared and 218 for nine (B. Arnold 42, M. Norman 43).
