GAOL TERM FOR WORKMAN
Thefts And Car Conversion (New Zeaiana Pres* Association) ROTORUA, July 19. A total of three and a halt years’ imprisonment was Imposed on Roy Valentine Burges*, aged 37, a workman, by Mr G. J. Donne, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Rotorua.
Burgess was charged on two counts of breaking and entering and theft in Rotorua, with ca? conversion, and driving without a licence at Kawerau, and with breach of his parole from prison. Burgess was sentenced to 18 months* gaol on each of the two burglary charges, these terms to be served cumulatively, and six months, also cumulative, on the charge of car conversion. On tha other two chargee he was convicted and discharged. Burgess had admitted takint; the car and committing thefts from two premises in Rotorua.
