INSTABILITY OF WOOL

A British management consultant executive (Mr Brian Smith) said last night that the Australian wo<Jf market in the United Kingdom was being endangered by the instability of Australian wool prices. Mr Smith is director of development of new techniques- for Personnel Administration, Ltdin Britain, a prominent world organisation of management consultants. He is on a business tour of the Commonwealth. Mr Smith said that unless wool prices could be made more stable the market for European synthetic fibres in Britain, with the assistance of the European Common Market, would seriously affect Australia’s wool industry. Australia had enormous wool marketing problems in the United Kingdom. British manufacturers could not afford to invest and risk huge sums of money m raw materials for their products, he added. .
