FARMERS CHANGE POLICY
Veterinary School* In N.Z. (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 17. Federated Farmers today changed its policy on the establishment of a veterinary training school in New Zealand. The annual conference urged that steps be taken to establish a school of veterinary medicine in New Zealand “in view of the fact that Australia has indicated that by 1965 New Zealand veterinary students will not be admitted to her universities.” The question was discussed in committee for an hour. The previous Federated Farmers policy was that the establishment of a school was desirable but that the time for it had not arrived. The conference also decided to continue to press for the early establishment of an agricultural research council.
