A retired farmer, Mr H. J. Nielson, made a one-man queue waiting for the Taranaki Rugby Football Union’s office to open at 8 a.m. for bookings for the season’s first Ranfurly Shield challenge by Nelson next Wednesday. Mr Nielson was at the union office at 5.45 a.m. and he was very surprised when no-one joined him by 8 o’clock.
