75 Killed In Typhoon
(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 17.
A typhoon killed at least 75 people as it swept across Japan and' Formosa toward China today. Radio Peking said some 20 million people would be affected by it. On the Japanese island of Kyushu, 45 people were killed and hundreds of acres of farmland flooded. Thousands of people were homeless. Thirty were killed on Formosa, where more than 300 houses were destroyed or damaged in the northern part of the island.
