Kiwis Not To Play In N.Z.

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. June 24. The New Zealand Rugby League Council last night rejected a suggestion that the Kiwi team should play an exhibition match in Auckland on its return from Australia. The idea was that the team field two teams at Carlaw Park on July 6, the day after its return. The chairman (Mr J. Watson) said: "It would be too much to ask the players to turn out two days after their last test.” The council also rejected a Wellington League ‘'feeler” for a game between the Kiwis and a Wellington side soon after their return. The council issued an invitation to the French League to make a twotest, 18-day tour of New Zealand next year. The Frenchmen will be asked to play nine matches.
