Spinsters
Sir, —I also read with interest and amusement your bright ''Spinsters” article in Wednesday’s paper and I have been wondering if New Zealand could be as progressive as Sweden where, according to a Press Association message published some time ago, a law was to be passed giving all women the courtesy title of Mrs, because all men, whether married or single, are known as Mr. Every difficulty could be overcome if something similar applied here. Politicians should note my slightly different idea and pounce joyfully upon it. I suggest that in New Zealand every “Mrs” should be "Miss.” —Yours etc.. IS A '‘MRS” AS GOOD AS A “MISS"?
