Obituary MR A. E. DAVY

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 14.

The recently appointed chairman of the Trade Practices and Prices Commission. Mr Albert Ernest Davy, aged 72. died at his Wellington home on Saturday morning.

Mr Davy was a merchant in recent years. In earlier days he was a political organiser, with the Reform Party in 1926, then the United Party <he became chairman in 1930), then the Democratic Party (he was chief executive officer in 1935), and then the People’s Movement (in 1940). He was manager of the new defunct Hawke’s Bay “Daily Mail” for some years.
