HARBOUR BRIDGE TRAFFIC
Daily Average Reaches Estimate For 1964 (New Zealana Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 12. The Auckland Harbour Bridge is carrying as much traffic now as the bridge authority had expected it to be taking in five years’ time, the authority’s chairman (Sir John Allum) told the Auckland Catholic Men's Luncheon Club yesterday afternoon. . ' He gave figures to show that more than 10,500 vehicles were using the structure each day this week, 1500 more than the daily estimate for the first year. The 200,000 mark for vehicles using the bridge since its opening on May 30 was reached on Wednesday.
