Last month, the organisers of the Le Mans 24-hour race in France arranged a practice day for this most famous of fall sports car races. This year’s race is set down for June 20-21. Judging by the practice, Ferrari will enter the race clear favourites. Phil Hill, the American, lapped in 3min 59.3 sec—only .6sec slower than the late Mike Hawthorn’s record set up in 1957.
