FELL FROM STAGE AT REHEARSAL
Over-Enthusiasm By College “Falstaff”
<New Zeatana Press Association/ NELSON May 28
Anthony Mark Hoby who plays Falstaff in the Nelson College Drama Club’s production “King Henry IV” entered into the spirit of the part so enthusiastically that he fell from the stage at a rehearsal and injured his foot Falstaff wa- doing relaxing exercises and instead of running on the spot, shut his eyes and ran off' the edge of the stage in the assembly hall and fell into the orchestra pit He carried on with his part and appeared at later rehearsals and at a matinee performance today with a stick The injury added rather than detracted from his character. Fal■4aff is the comic lead in “King Henry IV” and the part calls for burlesque sword fighting and much running away during battles
Death of Mrs Tainui.—The Can- ( terbury Museum Trust Board recorded regret at the death at Tuahiwi on May 20 of Mrs Reitaa Hineiwaho Pohio Tainui, a descendant of the Ariki (or chiefly) families of the Ngaitahu of North Canterbury and Westland. “Board members will recall the outstanding part played by Mrs Tainui during the Museum opening ceremonies on November 10, when she called the official party into the Pacific Hall and was the first woman to break the tapu of the canoe under construction, a ceremony which also symbolised the opening of the building.” said the Director (Dr. Roger Duff).
