Vealers In the veal section there was a large entry of mixed quality. Large runners, which were not plentiful, and best quality calves, met a sound sale at up to last week's rates, but cattle of poorer quality were easier by about 10s a head, and over the final stages of the sale this easing became more pronounced. Large runners realised from £2l 8s 6d to £23 8s 6d. medium runners £lB 13s 6d to £2l 3s 6d, and others £l4 18s 6d to. £l7 16s; prime suckers, £l6 18s 6d to £l9 18s 6d. good suckers £l3 18s 6d to £l6 8s 6d, 1 medium suckers £lO 8s 6d to £l3 8s 6d, small suckers£7 3s 6d to £lO 3s 6d: large calves £9 IBs 6d to £l3 13s 6d, medium calves £7 3s 6d to £9 13s 6d, .small £4 3s 6d to £6 18s 6d and bobby and inferior down to 40s. FAT PIGS Entries in the porker section were much lighter, but quality was much improved. The easing of last week was fully recovered and all classes sold freely in vendors’ favour. The, chopper entry was again fairly large i with little change in values. In the bacon section the yarding was of moderate proportions and included ] two trucks from outside districts Competition was very keen and I values improved by 2s to 4s a head i on last week’s rates. Values were:— Light and unfinished porkers, £4| 2s 6d to £4 19s 6d. | Medium porkers, £5 9s 6d to £6 9s 6d. Heavy porkers, £6 12s 6d to £7; 14s 6d. Light baconers, £8 9s 6d to £9 9s. 6d. STORE PIGS The store pig entry was the small- ! est for several weeks and the at- ■ tendance of buyers was a little, larger. Values improved from the; beginning by 4s to 5s a head and this trend was maintained until the > end. Values were:— Small weaners. 17s to 21s. Best weaners. 25s to 30s. Slips, 28s to 365. 50s. Large stores, 60s to 70s.
