NEW CHURCH HALL
Opening Of Building At Shirley
A new church hall will be dedicated by the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) in Shirley on Saturday afternoon.
The building, which is situated in Hills road, comprises a general utility hall with a sanctuary separated from this by folding doors. The building is of brick and reinforced concrete construction'and the main feature of the interior is the large fibreglass cross in the sanctuary.
The hall will not be let tor public functions, according to. the vicar for the district, the Rev. G. H. Schurr. It will seat about 100 persons and will be used for the first service the next evening. This .service will be conducted by Mr Schurr.
