NURSES’ STUDY WEEK
Aim To Form Wider Regional Group (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 17. The aim of the international study week for nurses which ended in Wellington at the weekend and which was sponsored by the South Pacific regional group of the International Council of Nurses, was to form the regional group on a wider basis. Miss F. J. Cameron, Wellington, director of the Division of Nursing, Department of Health, said only New Zealand and Australia were members of the regional group at present. “We could have a group of at least 10,’’ she said, explaining the principal outcome of the study week. Besides New Zealand and Australia, there were 10 other Pacific or South-east Asian countries represented at the study week. The conference supported the New Zealand Registered Nurses’ Association in its endeavour to establish a university chair of nursing.
