CHURCH PARADE OF RED CROSS
The annual church parade of the North Canterbury Red Cross Society was held at St. Andrew’s Church yesterday. The Revs I. Wilson and A. Mitchell officiated. Those present included the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr G. Manning) and Mrs Manning, city councillors, representatives of the services and other organisations, members of the North Canterbury Red Cross executive, members of the sub-centres, members of the Voluntary Aid Detachment, visiting officers, and link cadets. Lessons were read by the president of the North Canterbury centre (Mrs R. I. Brake) and a link cadet (Miss R. Columbus). In the colour parade were the following:—Mrs F. McDowell, Misses B. Thornton, A. McJannett and link cadets, Misses J. Jenman and L. Conner.
