ELDERLY MAN HIT BY MOTOR-CAR
An elderly man suffered severe head injuries when he was struck by a car at the corner of Cameron street and Victoria street, Ashburton, about 6.20 p.m. on Saturday. The injured man, who was admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital, is Victor Onslow Jeffries, aged 67 years, of Tuarangi Home. The car was driven by John Boothman, 95 McMurdo street, Tinwald. The hospital authorities reported Mr Jeffries’ condition to last evening.
