Road And Rail To North Again Open
The Main North road, which was blocked north and south of Kaikoura by slips and floods on Thursday night, was open to through traffic late yesterday, but motorists are advised to take care on the damaged portions of the road. The Automobile Association, Canterbury, reported yesterday that there was still a possibility of further slips. The main trunk railway from Christchurch to Picton was also clear by late yesterday.
