WESTERN PEACE PLAN
I Soviet Reaction At ; Geneva Awaited (AZ Press Association-— Copyright) (Rec. 11 p.m.) GENEVA, May 15. The Soviet Foreign Minister, Mr Andrei Gromyko, is expected to reply today to the Western “peace plan” for a German settlement. He made no immediate comment when the plan was presented to the Big Four Foreign Ministers’ conference yesterday by the United States Secretary of State, Mr Christian Herter. The Western plan calls for a united city of Berlin, the reunification of Germany, cuts in the ” forces of the Big Four Powers, and measures against surprise attack in agreed areas of the world. jj- Judging from Moscow’s statements to date, Mr » Gromyko should condemn the plan, although Western officials are speculating whether Mr Gromyko will spring a surprise by making some unexpected new j.'.. proposal.
