Bus Proprietors In
Favour (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, May 14. Members of the New Zealand Motor Ominbus Proprietor’s Association favour the introduction of decimal coinage in New Zealand. Delegates to the association’s annual conference in Invercargill decided today to make urgent representations to the Government to have a scheme of decimal coinage introduced at an early date. Delegates thought that a decimal system would simplify fare handling. A decision was made also to examine disposal of unclaimed property. In England property found on buses is retained by the operator for three months. It may then be sold with part of the proceeds going to the finder and part being retained by the operator. At present the position in New Zealand in indefinite.
