ARMED BOTHERED BY BRUISING
Only Light Work "The Press’ Special Service AUCKLAND, May 12. Armed is causing his trainer. C. M. Jillings, concern through a bruised foot, which he suffered a fortnight ago. In the meantime his work has been of the lightest nature, and this morning it was restricted to trotting exercise. Unless he shows improvement Armed will have to miss the Clarkin Steeplechase at Te Rapa on Saturday, and in that case his chance of running in the Northern at Ellerslie on May 30 and June 1 would be slight. It is particularly bad luck, because he resumed training in great order after a long rest and had managed the early part of his latest preparation very satisfactorily.
