Two Cypriots On Murder Charge
(Rec. 8 p.m.) NICOSIA, May 12. No-one followed the coffin cf Zacharias Karafotias, the Greek Cypriot who was soaked in petrol and burned to death before the eyes of his wife yesterday—when he was buried today at his village, Ayios Amvrossios, in north Cyprus. Villagers believed that Karafotias collaborated with the security forces during the emergency and helped to track down Eoka men. Two youths were arrested earlier today in connexion with his killing. The Greek Cypriot leader. Archbishop Makarios, would not comment on the incident today, but promised to make a full statement later.
