Bevan’s Wish To Become Premier
LONDON, May 15. The Labour Party’s “shadow" Foreign Secretary, Mr Aneurin Bevan, says that he would like to become Prime Minister, in an interview filmed for Independent Television transmission,’ the “Daily Telegraph” reported today. It said Mr Bevan says in the interview that he would like the office if only “to carry out some of the things that I do cherish very much.” But his intention was “to go on serving as well as I can.” The interview would be broadcast on Monday week, the newspaper. said.
