Woman’s Body Found In Harbour
(New Zealand Press Association) TAURANGA, May 8. The body of a woman who disappeared from the Craithie Home for Old People, Tauranga, about tea time last night, was found floating face -down in the Tauranga Harbour at 8 a.m. today. She was Katie Elaine Powell, aged 73, a widow, of Tauranga. The body was discovered this morning by Mr W. Schofield, of Mount Maunganui, while cycling to work. The assistant matron of the home (Mrs G. J. Murray) said that Mrs Powell was in a happy state of mind while having her tea about 5.30 p.m. after recovering from influenza.
