(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE. May 7. Under vigorous competition the best rates established during the series were fully maintained at today’s Melbourne wool sales. Woolbrokers reported that 14,200 bales were offered and a 99 per cent, clearance was made. The selection offered included mainly comebacks and crossbreds drawn from a wide area covering all districts supporting the Melbourne market. The chief buyers included the Eastern European countries, the Continent, United Kingdom and local mills. Crossbred prices included: good to super 80Id: good to super 56’s, 74d: and good to super 50’s, 68d.
