Oxford Entrance Subjects
LONDON, May 7. Latin or Greek may soon not be necessary for entrance to Oxford University. The University Congregation has taken a first step toward making an ancient language optional, instead of compulsory, as at present. for students taking the entrance examination The effect of a resolution passed by 249 votes to 244 would be to add German and Russian to the language group from which candidates must choose one subject.
