PRIVATE SECRETARY TO MR HOLYOAKE
Mr A. S. Helm Appointed
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 6.
Mr A. S. Helm has been appointed private secretary to the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Holyoake). He succeeds Mr J. M Whitta, who has relinquished the post to take up an appointment with the Air Transport and External Relations Division of the Air Department.
Mr Helm, who is 45, is well known for his interest in the Antarctic, and was secretary of the Ross Sea Committee. Until recently he was a member of the staff of the Department of Industries and Commerce.
